The Gainesboro Invincibles
Named in honor of the
8th Tennessee Company G
from Jackson County, TN
This organization is a 5013c and is non-political. The SCV is more than 30,000 strong - safeguarding Confederate Symbols, advancing southern traditions, and preserving the history and legacy of Confederate Heroes, so future generations may understand the motives that galvanized the southern cause.
The SCV is the direct successor of the United Confederate Veterans, and is the hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate soldiers. Organized in 1896, the SCV is dedicated to ensuring the true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved. Our Camp has ongoing programs such as preservation work, marking Confederate Soldiers graves, historical re-enactments, picnics, and a banquet. At our regular monthly meetings, we discuss the military and political history of the War of Northern Aggression, discuss upcoming events, and share a period of fellowship! For information regarding meeting times and location, please email us. |
