The Gainesboro Camp #1685 Sons of Confederate Veterans and The Aunt Polly Eaton Chapter Order of Confederate Rose Meets every First Thursday of the month at The Bridge "CHURCH" rith off the square in Gainesboro 6 to Eat and 7 to meet . This organization is a 5013c and in non political . The SCV is more than 30,000 strong preserving Confederate Symbols, advancing southern traditions, and preserving the history and legacy of Confederate hero's, so future generations may understand the motives that galvanized the southern cause.
The SCV is the direct Successor of the United Confederate Veterans, and is the hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate soldiers. Organized in 1896 the SCV is dedicated to ensuring the true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved. To be a member of the SCV you must be descendant of a confederate soldier if unsure we have geneologist that can help. if none can be found we can offer you an associate membership which gives you all privelidges of membership but without ability to vote as a member. Our Camp has ongoing programs such as Preservation work, marking Confederate Soldiers Graves, Historical Reenactments, and regular monthly meetings, a picnic and a banquet to discuss the military and political history of the War of Northern Aggression.
